What we do for internet

In the day and age where remote work is becoming more prominent, many are trying to figure out how they can get internet, to work, while on the road. David works remotely, and while I (Lauren) am normally working in the hospital, I still need the use of our computer & internet to complete education and other requirements for work. Thankfully through a little trial and error, and with the thanks to GlocalMe, we found a pretty great solution!

We originally looked into wifi units and routers for the bus, that would be “hardwired” in- meaning we’d have to be at the bus if we wanted to work. But the more we looked into devices, companies, and required contracts/plans- we just couldn’t find something that we felt worked for our needs. Many of the devices we found also didn’t have very good reviews, and these devices were expensive! And we didn’t want to buy something that didn’t work well.

We wanted a device that was mobile, something small that was easy to take with us, and a device/company that had flexible payment plans, and didn’t require a minimum monthly contract.. And then along came GlocalMe!

GlocalMe is a company that makes multiple mobile wifi options that fit many needs. The device we use is the TriForce Mobile Device. It is made for Adventurers like us- and stands up well to the outdoor elements with it’s “life-proof” like, designed outer shell. TriForce offers a few different features that we really love. The first is that we don’t have to deal with any SIM cards! GlocalMe uses a patented Cloud SIM technology that gives you a SIM free connection. Which means your device will work with multiple networks and will connect you to the strongest and most reliable 4G LTE connection (service of some kind must be available). This is perfect for us when traveling, as some areas have preferences to one network over the other. We have found that even if our phones have connection, they don’t always have a fast working internet speed- where the TriForce really comes in handy!

The second feature we really enjoy is the ability to charge our phones if needed. The TriForce is GlocalMe’s first device to offer multiple charing cables- to fit whichever phone you have- offering universal charging. It will charge your phone an equivalent of one charge- from “zero” to “one hundred”. This is perfect for those days where you’re out and about for the whole day and are needing to use your phone or ensure you have a good connection. Maybe you are going on a long hike, or exploring a new city and your phone may end up needing that second charge, and with TriForce you’ll have it!

A few other features TriForce offers is a long usage time- you can use the wifi feature for your devices, up to 28 hours. TriForce will also allow wifi connection for up to ten devices. Then one of the other best features it offers is connection in over 144 countries!

This past year has been super strange with traveling, and a lot of international travel has not been allowed. However, once international travel becomes more safe and begins to open back up we absolutely cannot wait to take our TriForce device with us internationally! This is probably the feature that intrigues us the most, because you don’t have to worry about either buying a SIM card, that works with the networks in that country, or having buy international data for your phone, and paying outrageous fees. You are able to just buy more data from GlocalMe, for the country you are in, and you are good to go! Wifi connectivity no matter where you are, for your devices!

This device can truly go anywhere with you and will fit the needs of being able to work, or learn remotely. The best part is you wont have to be tied to one physical location either- you can be connected anywhere you want- at a coffee shop, in the park, on a mountain top, or anywhere in between (as long as their is a server connection). So get outside, get exploring & take your internet with you, wherever you decide to go!
